Development for Generations1962As the 1960s began, so did Friendswood Development Company, with the same sense of excitement and optimism for a more promising future. Originally of Exxon Corporation, we brought the American dream to our first master-planned community: Clear Lake City. 1969While providing a community for many employees of the Johnson Space Center in Clear Lake City, Friendswood Development Company was soaring to new heights itself with exciting land acquisitions in other parts of the Houston area. 1972While Intel introduced its first microprocessor, Friendswood Development Company introduced generations of families to the natural wonders of The Livable Forest, also known as Kingwood. Other communities would soon follow, including Copperfield in West Houston. 1988Friendswood Development Company navigated the ups and downs of the fluctuating economy of the 1980s with a strong leadership position in Houston. While improving on our success in our existing communities, we introduced a new community called Fairfield, which would bring excellent home values to many new families. 2000With the excitement of a new Millennium and ownership by Lennar Corporation, Friendswood Development Company is advancing its tradition of master-planned community development into smaller family neighborhoods, while continuing our commitment to providing a well-planned mix of new home builders, fabulous amenities and convenient locations. 2004Friendswood Development Company announces plans for two new communities to meet growing demand in key areas of the Houston market - Conroe and in the City of Friendswood. 2008Friendswood Development Company celebrates continued success in its well-known, established master-planned communities as well as some of its newest communities which include Graystone Hills in Conroe and West Ranch in Friendswood. 2009As Houston and the nation experience a new economic era, those living in a Friendswood Development master-planned community remain confident that their home remains a solid investment. Keeping on track with plans for the New Year, expect to see new neighborhoods and builders making their debut in locations across the greater Houston area. With the experience of nearly five decades behind it, Friendswood Development Company was here yesterday, is strong today and will be here tomorrow. |
